The historic first “Tweet-up”, originally uploaded by WBUR.
It’s edifying to read what people write about 90.9 in their blogs (well … it’s often edifying).
To wit: Pamela Rosenthal, one of our twitterati. She was actually at the historic first one, last gracing these hallowed public radio warrens back in February (I got that right, didn’t I, Pamela?).
I printed out one of her posts—highlighting the following section— and affixed it to the bulletin board in the “event room.” Yes, I’ll confess to mining my share of visceral braggodocio from those press clippings trumpeting NPR’s successes, but for me, what the bloggers say carries more currency. Reading them reminds me of whom we serve, who cuts the checks that make it possible for us on the other side of studio glass to do what we do.
Here is what Pamela so thoughtfully wrote:
And, guess what — WBUR actually talks to their customers. In fact, they do an excellent job at cultivating a positive brand image using a variety of social media — such as via Twitter (@wbur), and their regular in-person Tweet-ups where they give fans a tour of the station, engage in conversation and then head out for drinks after. I’m wearing my cozy WBUR fleece jacket as I type this. I shelled out quite a bit of money for this jacket during their fundraiser last fall, and I did so happily because of my relationship with the station.
Thank you, Pamela.
Speaking of “Tweet-Ups,” look for our next one the last week of April. Hope to nail down a time and day by Monday.

Wow, Ken, thanks so much! I really appreciate it!
Listening to WBUR is one of my favorite things to do. My mornings would not be the same without it. My only regret is that I don’t have MORE time to listen.
Great post! It makes me want one of those cozy jackets too. ; )
Thanks Pamela! Those jackets are highly coveted Lisa. I don’t even have on myself!
