I don’t have the energy to parse all the iPhone’s earth-shattering ramifications ad nauseum, as frankly I’ve grown fatigued with the bucketloads of hype associated with Steve “Where Does He Get Such Wonderful Toys?” Jobs. Or perhaps it’s simply a case of envy masked as lack of interest. You should see the antiquated cellular blunderbuss I’m toting around the station.
That said, some very, very smart people are currently crowing about something called the “Public Radio Tuner.” That “tens of thousands of people” have downloaded this nifty little app that puts around 200 public radio stations a mouse click touch screen away pretty much compels me to deep-six the skepticism.
Any Mac zealots or haters out there? I’m curious to get your take.
Anyone with an interest in Apple is advised to listen to On Point’s recent show, in which Wired magazine’s Steven Levy and others read the tea leaves in the wake of all the rumors and rumblings streaming out of Cupertino.

The public radio tuner is great. But, for now, it only allows you to listen to, well, radio. What about the original-content podcasts produced by public radio shows and stations? And yes, I’m saying this because I produce an original-content podcast for a public radio show, The World.
For that, you might have to try Stitcher — http://www.stitcher.com
Excellent point Clark!
Will make sure to tell folks around the station about Stitcher.
Thanks.
