Ashbrook & Leibovitz, originally uploaded by WBUR
Sadly, this slipped so far under my radar that it was clipping daisies. A shame, because had I not been so consumed with jet-lag, I would have done my small part to publicize it.
The estimable Eileen Imada is tasked with directing On Point—and for those not in the radio biz, the logistics required and energy consumed to fill ten hours of air time weekly borders on the herculean.
Back on the 24th, Eileen pried open On Point’s audio vault and plumbed through the years of interviews to produce her own personal greatest hits of sorts, and what a heady, exuberant, sublime line-up it is, featuring such bright lights as photographer Annie Leibovitz, Pulitzer Prize-winning author Frank McCourt, and erstwhile Phish bassist Mike Gordon.
Now if that’s got your mouth watering, go over this select sampling of audio goodies to see who else made the cut.
Speaking of watering mouths, the Public Radio Kitchen has a new url: publicradiokitchen.org. You will notice some cosmetic changes, and you can expect additional tweaks in the weeks ahead, as well as more delectable recipes. If you are a food blogger, please contact me so I can feature what’s cooking in your kitchen as well.
