File this under my obsessive quest to solicit your feedback. Past attempts fell flatter then Kansas. I’m on my hands and knees pleading for a better reception this time around.
Todd Mundt’s rave about WunderRadio, the WeatherUnderground’s new iPhone app, got me to thinking that perhaps I should conduct an informal little poll about your preferred application du jour.
Then I decided it would be more instructive to make the question broader. What I really want to know is how you access the WBUR live stream. Do you listen via a mobile device? iTunes? Do you go wbur.org/listen and then click on one of the streaming options—and if so, which one? Anyone use FlyCast or similar stream aggregators?
Go ahead and yell me about your listening habits. I’m all ears.

Hey there,
First whatever Todd does must be cool. When in grad. school at UofM I went early mornings to answer phones for fund drives and to get all silly over Todd.
I listen via publicradiofan.com
I live in Orlando, FL right now where my local public radio is just not what it was while living in Ann Arbor. I love publicradiofan.com cause it’s easy to shop around for the shows I want to hear when I want to hear them.
I’m still not a very moble listener. I mostly listen right off my computer with a player like realplayer or something.
Did I answer the question you wanted answered?
Rachel

I listen to WBUR on broadcast radio at home & in the car, stream it on my PC at work and listen to NPR podcasts on my iPhone.
I hadn’t tried streaming it on the iPhone until recently. A good experience listening to Pandora cycling in this morning made me eager enough to try listening through:
http://wbur.org/listen
No go.
I tried FlyCast and am digging it.
I found you under “NPR Boston – Boston Public Radio” and have been streaming where ever my iPhone gets a 3G signal around the area. Fun stuff.
Since moving from Boston I am now a purely podcast listener!
Thank you all for the responses.
I apologize in the delay getting back to you. Some family obiligations have taken me away from this blog for a spell.
Rachel: Yes you answered my question. Thank you. I remember finding out about publicradiofan.com way back when. A great aggregator.
zerbina: Old fashioned radio listeners are most welcome here.
Actually I’ve been know from time to time to actual use on of the devices.
Alex: I Tweet you to talk about this issue with: http://wbur.org/listen. I’ve heard enough good regarding Flycast that we plan to offer a link to it for the benefit of our
i-Phone listeners such as yourself.
Rebecca: Interesting. Which podcasts?
Thanks again everyone!
For my WBUR streaming, I listen via the tuner app on my iPhone exclusively. I have resisted WunderRadio long enough though. Going to go download right now.
Did WunderRadio work wonders?
No iPhone yet, but I am partial to Radio Shift for the Mac.
Let’s you search all the streaming stations by genre.
In my car/bedroom, 90.9 MHz FM. At work, wbur-ogg.streamguys.com:80/wburlive.ogg

Thanks Neil. Glad folks are making good use of the ogg stream!
